Cow Festival is observed in different parts of nation
The Gaijatra festival or the 'festival of cows' is being observed across the country on Sunday. Mainly in Kathmandu valley it is celebrated in big deal.
According to religious scriptures, 'cow' helps departed souls to cross the cosmic ocean in their journey into the after-world. Cows are sacred animals in Hinduism.
   
 
TAAN to support flood victims
Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) has launched a special fund-raising campaign to support the Saptakoshi flood affected people of Eastern Nepal.
The campaign, launched with the slogan of ‘Share Sorrows’, aims to collect donations from tourism entrepreneurs and hand it over to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to support the flood victims.
Dolpa Festival from September 8
Locals of Dolpa districts are gearing up to celebrate the first ever Dolpa Festival in the district from September 8 to 12, 2008. The festival is being organized in a bid to promote tourism in the western Himalayan district of the country.
