Record-breaking Tourism Numbers Kick Off 2024 in Nepal

Nepal welcomed an astounding 79,100 international tourists in January, marking a significant surge in comparison to the same period last year, which saw 55,074 foreign visitors grace the country’s scenic landscapes.

India led the pack with 24,139 tourists, showcasing a notable increase from January 2023’s figures of 16,436, as reported by the Nepal Tourism Board.

The influx of travelers also included 7,267 arrivals from China, 7,047 from America, 4,619 from Thailand, 3,812 from South Korea, 3,629 from Bangladesh, and 3,421 from Australia.

Furthermore, Nepal saw 3,276 tourists from the UK, 2,229 from Bhutan, and 1,568 from Japan exploring its diverse cultural and natural wonders during the month.

These remarkable numbers serve as a promising start to Nepal’s tourism industry for the year 2024, highlighting the enduring allure of the Himalayan nation to global travelers.
