Porter to Managing Director - Puru Timalsena

Purushotam Timalsena, young entrepreneur established his name in tourism industry in short period. Being elder son of his parents, Puru of Dhola, Pursuk of Dhading district born in 1980 and completed his secondary level education from Nalang itself. After passing SLC with first division, he left Dhading and stayed at Kathmandu to get higher education. He has done graduation from Saraswoti Campus Thamel in management stream.

 

At the beginning of his stay in Kathmandu , he had suffered lot and he did struggle to survive. The difficulties of not having mattress to sleep and sharing the same room with 6 friends were really painful. He shared bitter experience with NTN with pride. No one had helped him to rise up in this business though there are many of his relation in this business.

 

 After getting job in Hotel discovery in 2002, he got opportunity to go trekking as a porter in Annapurna region with that trip he decided to involve in tourism business. With his own effort he had started his own portal based on travel and tourism (www.nepalguidetrek.com) while working in Earthbound expeditions which results he left his job. After left his job he started working in World Heritage Treks as a manager. After 5 months he left World Heritage and joined Nepal Montana's Treks & Expedition as a manager. But with his own portal he started to do business and in short period he organized numbers of treks and tour. Because of that he had to leave Montana 's so that he can develop his own office.

 

He becomes experience with ups and downs in his professional career. So, he established his own office Above the Himalaya Trekking (P) ltd. Now he is running his own office Above the Himalaya Trekking (P) ltd. having great instinct to do something better in tourism sector.

 

He thinks political stability is major factor to boost tourism with new and updated policy in this services oriented business.
