Tourism life line of Nepal's tourism

JHAPA: Nepal has immense tourism potential and the country’s economic development is possible through the tourism sector, said Chairman of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents Arjun Prasad Sharma.

Speaking at an interaction on ‘Nepal Tourism Year 2011 in the Eastern Region’ in Kakadvitta on Saturday, he said the government should bring in a policy to promote sustainable tourism.

At the function, CDO of Jhapa Sashi Shekhar Shrestha said the government should carry out collaborative, regulatory and motivational works to promote tourism in Jhapa.

Other speakers in the interaction also stressed the need of promoting tourism in the eastern region by developing new tourism destinations to meet the target of bringing in one million tourists in 2011.
