Nepal Tourism Year 2011

Nepal has been a tourist's paradise for many years. A country of amazing attractions, both natural and man-made, it offers a memorable experience for every visitor. Besides sharing its geographical borders with India and China, Nepal also shares history with its two giant neighbors.
Nepal is situated in the central region of the Greater Himalaya and it contains most of the world’s highest mountains than any other country. These include Makalu, Lhotse, Annapurna, Manaslu, and Dhaulagiri and of course Everest on most dramatic and highest mountain peaks in the world. It is rich in scenic splendor and cultural treasures with a strong historic tradition having population of more than 25 million people of different religion and Culture. A large portion of Population is believed in Hinduism whereas country is declared secular state already.

What is Nepal Tourism Year 2011?
Nepal Tourism Year 2011 is a grand fete throughout the year which is going to celebrate in Nepal in 2011. The concept of Nepal Tourism Year 2011 was emerged to manage and develop the tourism industry of Nepal by cashing the expertise view, experiences and commitment of government with public private venture. For that Nepal tourism board continuing in the promotional activity with public private venture internally and externally. The campaign will continue to promote Nepal in international arena through its line agencies such as Nepalese diplomatic missions abroad, I/NGOs, airlines, and national and international media, NRN community and Nepal’s friends and well-wishers.

Why Nepal is Celebrating NTY 2011?
After well known historical revolution, Nepal is targeting to progress in country economy within this decade. The major concern of Nepal is to improve people living standard as soon as possible. For that Nepal can cash tourism industry to grow economy and eliminate poverty. That’s why government has realized the potential of tourism industry in the development of nation. Knowing all these facts, Government has announced Nepal Tourism Year 2011.

What are the objectives of NTY 2011?

Objectives of the campaign

1. Establish Nepal as a choice of premier holiday destination with a definite brand image,
2. Improve and extend tourism related infrastructures in existing and new tourism sites,
3. Enhance the capacity of service renders,
4. Build community capacity in the new areas to cater the need of the tourists, and
5. Promote domestic tourism for sustainability of the industry.

Why Nepal?
The natural scenery, high mountains, incomparable cultural heritage and numerous specialties have made Nepal a well-known destination in the world tourism map with a distinct image of its own. However, the development of tourism is limited in number and within the certain areas of the country only.

Nepal has many things to offer. Its grandeur geography, diverse nature, wonderful art & culture, historical monuments, hospitable people and higher mountains always magnetize thousands of travelers in Nepal. Through out the country, tourism activities are possible from normal to adventurous one.

Kathmandu valley offers unique stone work which is easily seen in the street of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur. Tourists stop and admire a masterpiece of stone sculpture in Nepal. Some of them are in the National Museum Art gallery, others in the different locations in Kathmandu valley. Some of the best preserved, 8th – 12th century stone sculptures depicting Hindu themes in the valley can be compounded of Changu Narayan, a few miles from Kathmandu. Some superb stone works can be seen around the Pashupatinath temple in the bank of Bagmati River.

Pokhara is most popular tourist region. The beauty and glory of Pokhara can be observed by paragliding, hiking around Pokhara valley, sunrise view from Sarangkot and many more. Pokhara is composed of stunning’ beauty below as well as above. The major attractions of Pokhara are Fewa Lake, beautiful Annapurna range with holy mountain Machapuchere and many more.

The Highest Mountain Everest always welcome mountaineer to summit it. The pilgrimage tour to adventurous Bungee Jump can be done in Nepal. Nepal is a habitat for more than eight hundred different bird species. It is a paradise for bird watcher. In Nepal trekking, rafting, mountaineering, paragliding, hiking, jungle safari, bird watching, Rock climbing, Canyoning, pilgrimage tour and many other educational, research, cultural visit is possible in Nepal.
