Everest Gokyo Valley Trek

The region top of the world, Everest, Sagarmatha in Nepali and Chomolungma in Tibetan, is a popular destination for trekkers, explorers and climbers. It is also famous for its Sherpa villages, monasteries and culture. Trekking in this area varies in 5 days trekking to month long among them Everest Base Camp Kalapathar and Gokyo lake treks are very popular. Fabulous sceneries and social life of Sherpa villages are another attraction of this region. Further attraction is Sagarmatha National Park for those people who are interested in the wildlife. The route passes through spectacular forests of blooming rhododendron in March April, blue pine and firnfo on trek.

Trekking in Everest region is breathtaking and requires a good walking experience and a good physical health condition. This trek is a very interesting walking with its panoramic view of Everest (8848m), Cho Oyu (8152m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8463m) and Ama Dablam (6456m). Through the famous Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar we reach Tengboche Buddhist Monastery, Khunde, Khumjung etc. We pass through settlement of mixed ethnic groups like Brahman, Chhetri, Magar and Tamang in the lower region and Sherpa villages in the highland of Solukhumbu Everest region.

Everest Gokyo Lake Trekking Itinerary ::

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Day 2: Kathmandu, free for sightseeing

Day 3: Flight to Lukla and trek to Phakding

Day 4: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3400m)

Day 5 Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar

Day 6 Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

Day 7 Tengboche to Dingboche

Day 8 Dingboche to Pheriche

Day 9 Pheriche to Lobuche

Day 10 Lobuche to Gorakshep (5180m)

Day 11 Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp (5300m) and back to Gorakshep

Day 12 Gorakshep climb to Kalapathar and down to Lobuche

Day 13 Lobuche to Dzongla

Day 14 Dzongla via Chola pass to Thangna

Day 15 Thangna to Gokyo (4750m)

Day 16 Gokyo climb to Gokyo Ri (5320m) and down to Machhermo

Day 17 Machhermo to Namche

Day 18 Namche Bazaar to Phakding

Day 19 Phakding to Lukla

Day 20 Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu

Day 21 Kathmandu, shopping and sightseeing
