Amelia Hillary appointed brand ambassador for Everest Marathon

Ms. Amelia Hillary, the granddaughter of Sir Edmund Hillary has been appointed as the brand ambassador for Tenzing-Hillary Everest Marathon on June 8, 2008. 'We appointed Amelia as the brand ambassador of the marathon to promote adventure sports in Nepal. I am hopeful that the involvement of Ms. Hillary with the marathon will take this event to new height,' Bikrum Pandey, managing director of Himalaya Expeditions, the organizer of the event said. Ms. Hillary is also happy to be involved with Tenzing-Hillary Everest Marathon that is being organized for the last six years in the memory of her grandfather. 'I am very pleased to be associated with this event. I will continue promoting this marathon. Nepal is like my second home and I will always be close to this event,' Ms. Hillary said. Tenzing-Hillary Everest Marathon is being organized every year since the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Mt. Everest in 2003.
